A Young Man Receives A "Drunk Driving" Arrest And Makes Up His Mind To Hire A "Drunk Driving" Attorney

Even though Franklin wasn't an attorney, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a "driving under the influence" arrest, represented himself in court, paid three thousand dollars in penalties and fines, and served six months in the local jail. As he mentioned to his son, after he got out of jail, he found out from an attorney friend that if he would have hired a "driving under the influence" lawyer in the first place, he more likely than not would have had his penalties and fines significantly reduced and he might have never served any time in the local jail.

When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more DUI facts and so he asked his father for additional information about what a "driving under the influence" lawyer can do in a "driving under the influence" arrest. His dad then articulated the following: "If you have been charged with DWI you need a DUI lawyer who will aggressively represent your legal rights through the complexities involved in a DUI case. DUI attorneys will be able to assist you every step of the way through the criminal process and help you find the answers you need."

When Lawrence heard his father explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the relevance of hiring a DUI attorney. Near the end of their discussion, Lawrence mentioned that he was beginning to grasp the relevance of DWI laws and what "drunk driving" attorneys" can do for a person who has received a DUI arrest.

After getting "educated" about "drunk driving" arrests, the role of DWI lawyers, and understanding that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence made up his mind that he would without a doubt hire a "driving under the influence" lawyer to represent him in the local court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence finally started to realize the critical nature of DUI arrests and, as a consequence, he arrived at a decision that from this moment forward, he would always drink responsibly so that he would never again have to go through another DUI arrest.

His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "Lawrence,it took me until I was forty-five years old to realize what you just told me. I am really proud of you." This did wonders for his self worth and so Lawrence thanked his father and then said, "if I can always drink responsibly, I will never have to hire a DUI attorney again!"

There was, however, one thing that neither Lawrence nor his dad thought about, namely, if Lawrence is exhibiting any alcohol abuse signs or maybe if he is displaying any of the common signs of alcoholism. Indeed, if Lawrence is manifesting any alcohol signs that indicate alcohol abuse or alcohol addiction, he may need alcohol treatment.

In fact, Lawrence may be mandated by the court to get treatment for his abusive drinking. The good news, conversely, is that whatever it takes to deal with his hazardous and careless drinking, it appears that Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
