{article} What’s a good and cheap domain name service registrar?]

Question by apple guava: What’s a good and cheap domain name service registrar?
Hi,

I’m after a particular domain name. Price varies quite a lot depending on which registrar I look up. Godaddy.com seems to offer okay deals at about US$ 10 per year for a .com, .net or .org. At the end of the day I guess they all report to ICANN.

What’s a good, cheap registrar to go for?

(I do not need fancy web hosting services. I only need the domain name to direct all traffics to my own computer where further actions can take place).

Thanks.

Question by Mz Ammie: What would be a realistic budget for a BIG website?
I am considering setting up a potentially large social networking website. How much would a good budget be?

My team is handling the designning and developing.

What I’m interested in knowing is how much web hosting and a server (and any other cost) would amount to per month for a very large site?

Do you know of any good cheap dedicated/non-dedicated servers?

It depends on how much visitors you will get. Start with shared hosting and then go for dedicated hosting once you have many (like thousand visitors per day).

I would like to suggest following shared webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

They offer hosting of “unlimited domains” and you will get massive webspace of 600000 MB (600 GB ). They only charge $ 5.95/month and they offer “a free Domain Name” and installing service called “Fantastico”. By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer “Free Website Builder” as well.
Visit the site to check details.

The Webhostingbreak.com is a good source of the information you are looking for. The reviewer has a list of some of the top hosting companies in the industry. http://www.webhostingbreak.com/my-reviews/

They have different criteria to select the best web hosting companies and review the plans. You can find really good and accurate comparison chart of the top web hosts. I find their reviews quite authentic. Apart from what my experience says, I also frequently check for updates and useful inputs from Webhostingbreak’s experts.
